Laser Brow Removal by Julie Phaxay
Laser Brow Removal NEAR MINNEAPOLIS
Gently lighten old microblading and brow tattoos with a Pico laser, in the hands of an artist already thinking about your new brows. You have options, and I’d love to help.
Why Did My Old Microblading Change Color?
Brown pigment is a blend of warm and cool tones, and they don’t always fade at the same speed. When the warm tones go first, your brows look gray, blue or ashy. When the cool tones go first, you’re left with orange or red.
Poor technique can play a part too, and so can not taking care of the skin over the years. The good news is that pigments have come such a long way, and today we have ways to help avoid being left with just cool, ashy tones.

Your Path to NEW BROWS
Send Your Photos
Share your brows through my free online consultation. I’ll take a look at what’s there and tell you what I’d do.
Test Spot + Laser
I always do a test spot. Sessions are spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, and I reassess each time, so you’ll always know where we are.
Let It Settle
Once your old work is light enough to build on, wait at least 12 weeks after your final session so your skin can settle.
New Brows
Laser and new brows both happen with me, so I’m lightening with the finished look in mind. Then I design Nano Realism Brows just for your face.
Can’t You Just Tattoo Over It?
I know it would be so much easier! But new pigment doesn’t erase old pigment. It sits on top, and that’s how brows end up looking solid, which is why I don’t touch up another artist’s work. About 99 percent of those clients start with laser, and I look at every case myself before I recommend anything.
How the laser works: a Pico laser fires in extremely short pulses that break pigment into tiny particles your body clears on its own over the following weeks. Cosmetic pigments can contain iron oxide or titanium dioxide, which can turn darker under a laser instead of lighter, so I always like to understand what’s in your skin before we start.
What to Expect
How it feels: I’ll be honest with you, it isn’t nothing. Clients usually describe quick, hot snaps, like a rubber band against the skin. But the area is small, it’s over fast, and I talk you through every step.
How many sessions: I wish I could give you a number from a photo, but it really depends on how much pigment is there, what it’s made of and how your skin responds.
Aftercare: ice your brows for about 30 minutes after your appointment, or longer if you’d like. Keep them clean and dry for the first day. After 24 hours, if you aren’t having any issues, you can go back to your skincare and makeup, and be sure to wear sunscreen on your brows.

“Why did I wait?”
What so many clients tell me after their first session
My background is in fine art, from Minneapolis College of Art and Design and Aveda, where every color is custom mixed. I understand undertones deeply, which matters just as much when pigment is coming out as when it’s going in.
Laser Removal Questions
How do I get started?
Send me your photos through my free online consultation. I’ll take a look and tell you what I’d do. Let me know if you have any questions!
How do I prepare?
Before your session, stop retinol at least 3 weeks ahead.
Can old microblading be completely removed?
Sometimes it can get very close, but I can’t promise every trace will go. The good news is it often doesn’t need to. Light enough is usually all new brows need.
Someone else did my brows. Can you still help?
Yes, absolutely! Most of my removal clients had their original work done elsewhere, so please don’t feel awkward about it.
Will my brow hairs be affected?
When the laser is done correctly, it doesn’t damage your own hair. It can lighten your brow hairs, depending on the wavelength and strength we use, but that isn’t permanent. The color returns in a few weeks.
Will it scar?
With any technique, when it’s done correctly, you should not experience adverse effects.
Do you remove body tattoos?
Not yet, but it’s coming soon! If you’d like to join the waitlist, please reach out to me and I’ll let you know as soon as it’s available.
Where are you located?
You’ll find me inside Haven Beauty Collective at 14729 Excelsior Blvd, Minnetonka, just west of Minneapolis. Appointments run Tuesday through Friday, 9 to 5.
